Item Synthesis and characterization of novel zinc ditriazine comp(Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, 2019-05) Fonseka,W.G.K; Deraniyagala,S.P; Perera,N.TTriazine derivatives have gained considerable attention due to their biological properties. Here we have focused on the synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of novel Zinc complexes bearing derivatives of 1,2,4-Ditriazine ligands (R = Me, Et, Py). Although the ditriazine scaffold was synthesized more than five decades ago,1 only a few reports exist on their metal complexes2,3 and Zn(II) complexes of ditriazine are relatively unexplored.Item Synthesis and characterization of platinum complexes with ethylenediamine and diethylenetriamine sulphonamide ligands towards biological applications(Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, 2021-06) Hettige , L; Perera,I.C; Perera,N.TDiethylenetriamine and ethylenediamine are renowned tridentate and bidentate chelating ligands, and have been utilized to synthesize sulfonamide derivatized platinum complexes.Item Synthesis and characterization of sulfonamide derivatized di-(2-picolyl)amine ligands and their rhenium tricarbonyl complexes towards fluorescent imaging(Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, 2019-05) Darshani,T; Perera,I.C; Perera,N.TThe synthesis and characterization of four novel compounds are reported in this study; N(SO2 )(1-nap)dpa (L1), N(SO2 )(2-nap)dpa (L2), fac-[Re(CO)3 (N(SO2 )(1nap)dpa)]PF6 (C1), fac-[Re(CO)3 (N(SO2 )(2-nap)dpa)] PF6 (C2) to evaluate their application as imaging agents.Item Synthesis and characterization of trimethylbenzene and chlorobenzene derivatized platinum complexes towards biological applications(Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, 2023-06) Yasarathna,K. W. G. K. P; Perera,L.C; Fronczek,F.R; Perera,N.TSynthesis of metal-based complexes as potential therapeutic agents for diseases like cancer, arthritis is a recent topic of interest. With the intention of identifying novel drug leads with potential biological applications, novel platinum complexes; {[Pt(N(SO2 trimethylbenzene)dpa)Cl2 ] (C1) and [Pt(N(SO2 chlorobenzene)dpa)Cl2 ] (C2)}, derived from sulfonamide ligands; {N(SO2 trimethylbenzene) dpa (L1) and N(SO2 chlorobenzene)dpa (L2)} were synthesized. These compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, X-ray crystallography, FT-IR, UV-Vis and f luorescence spectroscopic methods.
