Abstract
Sri Lanka has an abundance of high quality mineral
deposits which have not been effectively utilised for the
economic development of the country. While some
have not been exploited to their full potential, others
are sold at a pittance to overseas buyers. Our industrial
policies have never entailed using mineral resources for
economic development.
