Abstract

Moringa oleifera, which belongs to the family Moringaceae, is a plant grown in almost all part of Sri Lanka although it is well grown in semi-arid areas. Everybody enjoys its pods, “Murunga” (Drumsticks) as a curry though little attention is paid to its leaves (Figure 1). Several Sri Lankan companies export mainly leaves / leaf - powder to different countries.
